On day a woman frind brought him a young boy's xrcis book.Sh said that sh wantd to know what Balzac thought of th boy's charactr.

Balzac studid th handwriting carfully for a fw minuts. Th woman, howvr, told him that th boy was not hr son and that h might tll hr th truth.

“All right,”said Balzac.“I shall tll you th truth.”And h said that th boy was a bad, lazy fllow.

“It is vry strang,”said th woman, smiling.“This is a pag from your own xrcis book, which you usd whn you wr a boy.”
